I completed my M.D degree at Shahid-Beheshti University of Medical Sciences in Tehran, Iran, in 1996. I received a master’s degree in Reproductive Health Sciences and Human Genetics from The University of Sydney, Australia in 2003. After that I worked as a research scientist at the Research Center for Gastroenterology and Liver Diseases (RCGLD), and The National Research Institute of Tuberculosis and Lung Disease (NRITLD) in Tehran, Iran from 2003 to 2004. In 2004, I started my PhD study in the Faculty of Medicine at The University of Sydney, Australia. I completed my PhD course in the field of skin cancer under supervision of Prof. Gary M. Halliday in 2008. After returning to my country I was assigned an academic role and have been working at the National Institute of Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology (NIGEB) as a member of the scientific committee and senior research scientist. Currently I am the head of the department of stem cells and regenerative medicine at the institute for medical biotechnology, NIGEB. I have been involved in about 30 publications and supervised about 20 masters’ and PhD students.

Dr. Pravin D Potdar has completed his PhD from Tata Memorial Centre, Mumbai in 1991. Last 30 years, he has been working in the field of Cellular & Molecular Biology of Cancer. His present interest is in molecular profiling of cancer, cancer stem cells, understanding the mechanism of metastatic cancer, Circulating Tumor cells, personalized medicine immunotherapy of cancer and early biomarkers of cancer. Dr. Potdar is a recipient of National Cancer Institute, USA award and also holds Faculty position at M D Anderson Cancer Centre; Houston TX, USA. Dr. Potdar retired from Jaslok Hospital & Research Centre, Mumbai as a Head, Department of Molecular Medicine & Biology, after servicing there for 12years. Dr. Potdar had established Molecular Diagnostics & Stem cell Research Laboratory at Jaslok and carried out various research Programs in the field of Cancer Genetics & stem Cell Research. He has developed several innovated technologies which can help to diagnose and treat various cancers. Dr. Potdar also carried out extensive research in the field of stem cell research and developed several mesenchymal and hematopoietic cell lines from various normal and tumor tissues, adipose tissue, dental pulp cells, blood cells etc. So far, Dr. Potdar has published 81 papers in national & international journals. He holds position on Editorial Board of various international journals. Dr. Potdar was a Guest Editor for special issue on “ Circulating Tumor Cells” published by Journal of Cancer Metastasis & Treatment (JCMT), USA. Dr. Potdar’s name is included in Marquis “Who’s Who in World” Book 2012. Presently Dr. Potdar is a Faculty & Professor of Genetics and Stem Cell Biology at Dr. A.P J. Dimitrios H. Roukos, MD, PhD, is Professor of Surgery – Precision Cancer Medicine and Founding director of “Centre for Biosystems and Genome Network Medicine” in the Ioannina University, School of Medicine. His translational and clinical research from traditional and single gene investigation to molecular networks and clinical cancer genome NGS analysis has been recognized by international scientific community. He has published > 236 PubMed papers with recent focus on NGS conventional and breakthrough genome analysis (> 80 articles) and more recently in precision cancer medicine (31 articles). These publications have received more than 8420 citations with h-index: 72 (Scopus). Dr. Ghulam Md Ashraf is currently working as Associate Professor at King Fahd Medical Research Center, King Abdulaziz University, Saudi Arabia. Dr. Ashraf received his PhD in Biochemistry from Aligarh Muslim University (India) in 2010. He has to his credit 169 publications ranging from peer-reviewed journal articles, books and book chapters published with the scholarly publishers (total citations: 1806, h-index: 20, i10-index: 47). He has been involved in 11 research projects funded by various agencies of Saudi Arabia and is a member of several renowned professional associations and organizations. Dr. Ashraf currently focuses on investigating the expression of proteins involved in causation, progression and potential therapy of neurological disorders. He is also interested in exploring the inherent connection of neurological disorders with other chronic diseases like cancer and diabetes, using proteomics and nanotechnological tools. Dr. Ashraf is involved in editorial capacity in many reputed journals, like PLOS one, Scientific Reports, Frontiers in Neuroscience, Current Proteins and Peptides, Journal of Proteomics, to mention a few.

Prof S K Bhatnagar started career in higher education from 1977 and became Professor in College of Biotechnology, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel University of Agriculture & Technology, Meerut on July 25, 2007. He and remained Head of 4 departments for more than 10 years. Prof Bhatnagar has a vast experience of 40 years in teaching and research. He served as Dean, College of Biotechnology in S V P University of Agriculture & Technology, Meerut from January 1, 2015 to February 28, 2017. Besides this, he worked on several administrative positions like Chief Personnel Officer (Pro-VC), Nodal Officer, College of Basic Science and Humanities, Chief Warden, Chairman, Screening Committee for CAS, Chairman, Discipline Committee, Director, Training & Placement besides Officiating as Registrar several times in the same university. Prof Bhatnagar established internationally recognized “Society For Plant Research” in the year 1988 under the aegis of which an International Journal of Plant Research “VEGETOS” having NAAS rating of 6.04 (2015-16) is being published. Sergey Suchkov was born in the City of Astrakhan, Russia, in a family of dynasty medical doctors. Dr Suchkov is an author of more than 500 publications including 10 patents and more than 10 monographs, handbooks and textbooks published in Russia and USA. Dr Suchkov is a Supervisor for 18 dissertations maintained including 14 Candidates and 4 Doctors of Science. At present, 10 dissertaions are being supervised by Dr Suchkov. In 1980, graduated from Astrakhan State Medical University and was awarded with MD. In 1985, maintained his PhD as a PhD student of the I.M. Sechenov Moscow Medical Academy and Institute of Medical Enzymology, USSR Academy of Medical Sciences, Moscow, Russia. In 2001, finished the PostDoc Research Fellowship Program and maintained his Doctor Degree at the National Institute of Immunology, Russia.From 1985 through 1987, worked at Inst of Med Enzymology, USSR Academy of Medical Sciences. Dr. Ji has been teaching theoretical pharmacology and theoretical/computational cell biology at Rutgers University since 1982. With his students, Dr. Ji has been applying the Planckian Distribution Equation to analyzing the genome-wide gene expression data from budding yeast and human breast cancer tissues, some of which have been published in his book, The Cell Language Theory: Connecting Mind and Matter, World Scientific, New Jersey, 2018, Section 7.3.4

(1) Theoretical cell biology aimed at discovering and applying to biomedical sciences those principles that underly living processes at the molecular, cellular, and multicellular levels, including protein folding, gene expression, transcriptomics, proteomics, and metabolomics. (2) Establishing the Planck Distribution Equation (PDE) as a novel mathematical tool for investigating what Weaver called 'organized complexity' in 1948, including cell metabolism, morphogenesis, brain functions, and social networks. (3) Developing a novel experimental device by combining the digital CymaScope and PDE that can diagnose human diseases through examining sound-induced blood wave patterns.

Raul N Ondarza-Vidaurreta is a Professor of Biochemistry at Faculty of Medicine, UNAM and Medical Researcher at National Institute of Public Health, currently teaching Biochemistry and Molecular Biology and directing research theses in both Master and Doctor degree in the Faculties of Sciences and Medicine of the UNAM. He has completed his Postgraduate in Biochemistry, Glasgow University, Scotland, Great Britain and Doctor in Biology (Biochemistry) Faculty of Sciences, UNAM, Mexico and he was a Fellow of John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Foundation, Dr. Honoris Causa, Republique Francaise, Académie de Créteil, Universitè Paris XIII. He acted as General Director of Scientific and Technological Cooperation (1990). Dr. Ondarza interests are in the biochemistry and molecular biology of human parasites, as well as in cancer cells infected by the Papilloma virus.

Dr. R Holland Cheng is a Finland distinguished professor of Molecular and Cellular Biology at University of California, Davis. His area of expertise is in proteome imaging of model/macromolecular systems. Dr. Cheng has served as a Panel Reviewer, to name a few, for NIH programmed project grant, NIH Microbiology & Infectious Diseases Research Committee, NIH National Center for Research Resources, DOE National Labs, Wellcome Trust UK and Earth & Life Sciences Council Netherlands. With more than two decades of theme-based investigation, his lab has been applying the knowledge of the capsid derived nanoparticle, from a water-borne Hepatitis E virus, structure for diagnostic and therapeutic applications based on the structure-function interplay of macromolecules (see reviews in his books of ISBN 981-270-405-1, 2008 and ISBN 981-238-614-9. 2004). The lab has gained the unique knowledge from observing the conformational changes of viral particles at various states of their life cycle to analyze their assembly intermediates and built-in metastable conformations for the macromolecules to drive their designated function. To unveil the mechanisms involving the interplays between the virus and the host cells, for instance the morphogenesis of cellular compartmentation mediated by integrin clustering, algorithms of image processing are constantly developed to retrieve most of the useful images acquired by the direct-electron detector for cryoEM or cellular tomography.

Genomics, Proteomics and Metabolomics, Molecular Medicine, Spectroscopy and Imaging, Structural Biology, Membranes and Macromolecular Assembly

Kenji Suzuki, Ph.D. (by Published Work; Nagoya University) worked at Hitachi Medical Corporation, Japan, Aichi Prefectural University, Japan, as a faculty member. He joined Department of Radiology, University of Chicago, in 2001, and he was Assistant Professor in the department and Graduate Program in Medical Physics. Since 2014, he has joined Department of Electric and Computer Engineering and Medical Imaging Research Center, Illinois Institute of Technology, as Associate Professor. Since 2017, he has been jointly appointed in World Research Hub Initiative at Tokyo Institute of Technology, Japan, as Full Professor (Specially Appointed). He published more than 320 papers (including 110 peer-reviewed papers in leading journals) in the fields of machine and deep learning, computer-aided diagnosis, and medical image processing and analysis. He invented and has been actively studying a machine-learning framework that learns images directly in the past 20 years. Recently, people call it deep learning. His papers were cited more than 9,000 times by other researchers. He has an h-index of 43. He is inventor on 30 patents (including 13 granted patents), which were licensed to several companies and commercialized. He published 10 books and 22 book chapters, and edited 13 journal special issues. He was awarded/co-awarded more than 25 grants as PI including NIH R01 and ACS. He served as the Editor of a number of leading international journals, including Pattern Recognition and Medical Physics. He served as a referee for 80 international journals, an organizer of 30 international conferences, and a program committee member of 150 international conferences. He gave 95 invited talks and keynote speeches at international conferences and universities. His research was covered in 45 articles in international newspapers, magazines and journals by press and media. He received 25 awards, including 3 RSNA Certificate of Merit Awards, IEEE Outstanding Member Award, Cancer Research Foundation Young Investigator Award, Kurt Rossmann Award for Excellence in Teaching from Univ of Chicago, IEICE 2014 Best Journal Paper Award, Springer-Nature EANM Most Cited Journal Paper Award 2016, and Marquis Who’s Who 2017 Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award.

Research interests are deep learning, machine learning, computer-aided diagnosis, medical image processing, medical image analysis, and artificial intelligence.

Dr. Rebecca Ng Mei Li received his Ph.D. in Medicine from the University of Sydney in 2014. After completion of her Ph.D degree she was appointed as a Senior Lecturer in the Advanced Medical and Dental Institute (AMDI) at the Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM), Malaysia. After receiving her Ph.D degree, Dr. Rebecca Ng Mei Li served her postdoctoral position at Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine, Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore from 2013 to 2015 while maintaining her lecturer appointment at USM. She is interested to study translational and therapeutic discovery aspects of Type 2 Diabetes, with a major focus in identifying novel protein biomarkers for early diagnosis and drug target development. Dr Rebecca Ng Mei Li has attended numerous international and national conferences both as oral presenter. Her Ph.D project has won the 1st Professor Mustaffa Young Investigators' Award in 2016 by National Diabetes Institute (NADI), Malaysia. As a young scientist, she is proactively seeking research collaboration to unravel novel biomarker for type 2 diabetes.

Her research interest is focused in identifying novel protein biomarkers for early diagnosis and drug target development.

Mark Feitelson received his Ph.D. in Microbiology and Immunology in 1979 from the UCLA School of Medicine. He was an American Cancer Society postdoctoral fellow at Stanford University from 1980-82, and was then recruited to the Fox Chase Cancer Center by Dr. Baruch Blumberg (Nobel laureate). In 1991, Dr. Feitelson became Associate Professor of Pathology and Cell Biology and head of the Molecular Diagnostics Lab in Microbiology at Thomas Jefferson University. In 2007, Dr. Feitelson moved to Temple University, where he is now Professor of Biology. His research has been supported by NIH for more than 20 years, has more than 130 publications, and is presently head of the Professional Science Master program in Biotechnology at Temple University.

Henry M. Sobell completed his studies at Brooklyn Technical High School (19481952), Columbia College (1952-1956), and the University of Virginia School of Medicine (1956-1960). Instead of practicing clinical medicine, he then went to the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) to join Professor Alexander Rich in the Department of Biology (1960-1965), where, as a Helen Hay Whitney Postdoctoral Fellow, he learned the technique of single crystal X-ray analysis. He then joined the Chemistry Department at the University of Rochester, having been subsequently jointly appointed to both the Chemistry and Molecular Biophysics departments (the latter at the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry), becoming a full tenured Professor in both departments (1965-1993). He is now retired and living in the Adirondacks in New York, USA.

Dr. Pongsak Rattanachaikunsopon is a Professor in the Department of Biological Science at University of Ubon Ratchathani, Thailand. He obtained Bachelor of Science in Radiological Technology at Mahidol University, Thailand and a Master of Science in Anatomy at Mahidol University, Thailand. He earned Ph.D. in Molecular Biology at Lehigh University, Pennsylvania USA. He has been awarded with Professor Sood Saengvichain Award for Best Research and Presentation in 13th Annual Meeting of the Society of Anatomy of Thailand in 1990, Professor Dr. Tab Nilanidhi Foundation Award for the outstanding graduate student in Anatomy in 1991 and Best Government Officer, The Ministry of Education in 2014. He serves as an Editorial board member of more than 10 international Journals.

Prof. Dr. Pongsak Rattanachaikunsopon is interested fields of research are Molecular Biology, Microbiology and Biochemistry. His present research focuses on searching for biological agents such as microorganisms and plants to use as alternatives to control animal and human diseases caused by pathogenic bacteria.

Dr. Parichat Phumkhachorn is a Professor in the Department of Biological Science at Ubon Ratchathani University, Thailand. She has completed her Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology at KhonKaen University, Thailand and Master of Science in Microbiology at Mahidol University, Thailand.
